Community Connection 2

I chose to do my second community connection on Costa Devorezky’s art work. I thought his/ her art work was cool because it was paintings of people in motion, like playing a sport or something. I thought this was cool because the way that the paintings are done; the outcome of the pictures makes them look very real like they were photographs of athletes in action. There is a lot of detain in all of the pictures with the way that the people are painted. The artist used many colors and shadings etc.  Most of the paintings don’t really have a background, they’re all mostly a solid color, but it makes the actual picture of the person in motion stand out a lot more. I like the painting in the third column down and third one over of the guy doing what looks like a dive. Because you don’t know what he is diving into so it looks really cool because it almost looks like he is soaring. I also like the painting on the last row of the girl in the chair because she has two sides to her, when you first look at it she looks innocent; but the more you look at it and see more detail in the picture; you see that she is actually painted to be seductive looking. I think this picture is cool mostly because I like the way he high heels are painted; it makes the picture look more interesting.

I chose to do my community connection from an art gallery by Alexis Berman on Lowegallery.com. I chose to do Alexis Berman’s work because it is really messy and colorful, and it catches my eye more than any of the other artist’s gallery’s. Her art work has emotions that come with all of her pieces. Most of the emotions I get from her work are happy and joyful ones (with many bright colors). I also enjoy her art work because it looks like graffiti, and I think graffiti is a really cool type of art because it is expressive and unique. I like her second piece of art in the gallery because it kind of looks like two flowers, but then at the same time you can’t tell if that’s what it was meant to be because there is no real detail hinting that it is supposed to be flowers. I also like her first piece of work because it is bright red paint on a dark blue and black background, so the red splattered paint really stands out and looks cool. I also like her first piece of work in the second column down because it looks like graffiti, and like I said before, I think that that kind of stuff looks cool because it is unique.
